Darlinghurst Terrace
Terrace Rear
Kitchen Window

Forbes Street

This project was dubbed the 'jewellery box' by its owners, for while the facade maintains a strong connection to the heritage street-scape, the renovation of this property created a series of light-imbued spaces that appear as one moves through the house. This project involved the substantial renovation of a two-storey, two-bedroom terrace. The owners sought to transform the house into a modern space, featuring light-filled living spaces and a media room. To achieve this, excavation work was carried out to create an additional storey. The rear of the house was demolished and a new structure built containing a basement, spectacular new bathroom and kitchen. The relationship with the outdoors was also transformed: the site's city views are now captured by the addition of large bi-folding windows and a new courtyard terrace. Work in association with WSD.
