Metcentre

Located in the centre of the CBD at the base of an office tower, the original Metcentre food-court had become tired, and the owners recognised that the space needed a complete overhaul. AVL was commissioned to redefine and reenergise the space. This involved the reorganisation of seating and lounge areas, the installation of new lighting and the creation of a coherent new design 'language' for the tenancy shop-fronts. The design's material needed to be clean and simple: frameless glass, laminates, terrazzo, vitrified tiles and stainless steel were used. The colour scheme for the space - featuring rich tones of red and brown - also brought warmth to the space.
